- The 304/304L Stainless Steel Rod alloy is a superior version of the standard 304/304L, specifically treated to enhance machinability and ensure greater uniformity. This high-performance alloy allows for faster machining, prolonged tool life, superior part quality, and reduced overall machining costs. When annealed, the 304/304L Stainless Steel Rod is non-magnetic; however, it may exhibit slight magnetic properties post cold-working or welding.

CORROSION RESISTANCE:

HEAT RESISTANCE:
- Exhibits excellent oxidation resistance during intermittent use up to 1600°F and continuous use up to 1690°F.
However, continuous use of the 304 round bar within the 800-1580°F range is discouraged if maintaining subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is crucial.
WELDING CHARACTERISTICS:
- Easily welded by the full range of conventional welding techniques, with the exception of oxyacetylene.
- AWS E308L/ ER308L filler metal is recommended when welding with Prodec 304/304L steel.

- Daxun Stainless Steel Products can perform heat treatments on some of our 400 Series Stainless Steel Bars. Heat treating introduces stresses due to hardening, depending on the metal's composition. It is also employed for tempering, quenching, normalizing, and solution annealing.
POSITIVE MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION (PMI)
- In certain scenarios, additional positive material identification testing may be necessary. Daxun Stainless Products can conduct this testing in-house or collaborate with an independent laboratory to perform the tests. Please contact us for specific requirements.
UT TESTING
