Ti 6Al-4V (Grade 5 Titanium) is the titan of titanium alloys, accounting for over 50% of total titanium usage. Typically used in the annealed state, it operates up to 400°C (750°F). Ti 6Al-4V is welded with matching or ELI filler wire, offering higher strength, stiffness, and thermal properties compared to commercial pure titanium (excluding thermal conductivity). Though thermal conductivity is about 60% lower, it can be heat-treated for optimal strength and performance. Its advantages include superior formability, low density, and exceptional corrosion resistance.
Our Premium Grade 5 Titanium Alloy Tube represents the pinnacle of strength, corrosion resistance, weldability, and machinability. This exceptional alloy finds its place in a multitude of critical applications, ranging from military aircraft and aviation industry components to rocket parts, precision-guided systems, armor elements, ship equipment, and military vacuum devices. Its close counterpart, the 6-4ELI variant, is similarly utilized in surgical implants, underscoring its versatility. Operating efficiently in temperatures up to 400°C, this alloy enhances ductility and toughness, especially in cold working conditions, and boasts outstanding specific strength. Typically delivered in an annealed state, it readily undergoes heat treatment to further bolster its strength for diverse uses. As a general-purpose titanium alloy, the Ti 6Al-4V titanium seamless tube offers a range of ideal properties within a temperature spectrum of -210°C to 400°C. It stands as the most commercialized titanium alloy, lauded for its impressive strength, toughness, and excellent welding and processing characteristics.
