Corrosion Resistance
The 410 stainless steel boasts impressive resistance against dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, foods, steam, and hot gases.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, 410 stainless steel must undergo hardening. It delivers the best performance when its surface remains smooth.
Heat Resistance
Exhibits commendable resistance to scaling at temperatures up to approximately 650°C. However, it is not generally recommended for use between 400 and 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
For full annealing, heat to 815-900°C, then allow to cool slowly in the furnace to 600°C before air cooling.
For process annealing, heat to 650-760°C, followed by air cooling.
Welding
Easily weldable by all standard methods. Preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing are recommended to minimize cracking risks.

| #240 | 240 grit finish; used when a finer finish than No. 4 is required; typically for restaurants and kitchen equipment and tools. |

| HL | This finish is performed by continuous linear polishing using an abrasive of appropriate grain size; mainly used for architectural applications. |
