2507 Stainless Steel Plate Advantages:
- The 2507 stainless steel plate stands out for its exceptional resistance to pitting corrosion with a PREN value soaring up to 43. This remarkable property ensures outstanding corrosion resistance. In addition, the Duplex 2507 steel plate is adept at withstanding other types of corrosion such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC), crevice corrosion, and general corrosion. This combination of superior resistance makes the Duplex 2507 an exceptionally versatile and dependable option for myriad applications in even the harshest environments.
- 2507 boasts a yield strength that is twice that of the 300 series stainless steel. This formidable strength advantage allows for the utilization of thinner steel sections while maintaining the same load conditions, effectively reducing material costs in equipment manufacturing.
- With a yield strength and tensile strength that double those of standard stainless steel, the 2507 significantly enhances wear resistance, making it an incredibly durable choice.
Applications of Stainless Steel 2507
- Desalination Processes
- Oil and Gas Industry Equipment, including offshore platforms, pipelines, and well casings
- Chemical Processing Equipment, particularly for handling corrosive chemicals
- Pulp and Paper Industry, especially bleaching process equipment
- Petrochemical Industry Applications, such as PVC strippers
- Water Desalination Plants
- Power Industry Equipment, including flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems
- Marine Components, such as ship propellers and shafts
- Pollution Control Equipment, like scrubbers

At Daxun, we are delighted to offer our customers premium super duplex 2507 stainless steel plates. These plates are a perfect 50/50 blend of austenite and ferrite, providing greater strength than pure austenite or iron alloys. Since its inception in the United States in the 1940s, Duplex 2507 has evolved to its third generation, characterized by a yield strength reaching 400-550MPa, which is double that of ordinary stainless steel. This strength allows for material savings and lower manufacturing costs. In terms of corrosion resistance, especially in challenging media environments like seawater with high chloride ion content, Duplex 2507 outperforms ordinary austenitic stainless steel and rivals high-alloy austenitic stainless steel in resisting pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion, and corrosion fatigue. Daxun Alloys offers Duplex 2507 stainless steel in various forms and sizes, all adhering to industry and international standards such as ASTM, ASME, EURONORM, and AFNOR.
Description of Stainless Steel Plate Surface
Finish Designation | Method and degree of finish |

CORROSION RESISTANCE
General Corrosion
- The high chromium and molybdenum content of 2507 ensures exceptional resistance to uniform corrosion from organic acids such as formic and acetic acid.
- It also offers superior resistance to inorganic acids, particularly those containing chlorides.
- 2507 can be utilized in dilute hydrochloric acid solutions.
- Pitting isn't a concern below the borderline shown, although crevices should be avoided.
Intergranular Corrosion
- The low carbon content significantly minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during heat treatment.
- Duplex 2507 is highly resistant to carbide-induced intergranular corrosion.
Stress Corrosion Cracking
- The duplex structure of the 2507 stainless steel plate ensures unparalleled resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC), making it an exceptional choice for demanding environments.
- Experience corrosion resistance and strength like never before with our 2507 stainless steel, far surpassing the capabilities of 2205.
- Ideal for offshore oil and gas, the 2507 stainless steel plate excels in environments with naturally high brine levels or where brine injection is used to enhance recovery efforts.
Pitting Corrosion
- Explore various testing methods to determine the pitting resistance of steels in chloride-containing solutions, ensuring reliability and longevity.
Crevice Corrosion
- Engineered for high resistance, our 2507 stainless steel is resilient against crevice corrosion.
Hot Forming
Achieve optimal results by hot working the 2507 stainless steel between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
Cold Forming
2507 stainless steel is compatible with most standard forming processes. Fabricators should note its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels, requiring more force, larger bending radii, and a greater margin for springback. Solution anneal and quench are recommended for deformations exceeding 10%.
Heat Treatment
For maximum corrosion resistance, 2507 stainless steel should be solution annealed at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by a swift air or water quench. Post-treatment pickling and rinsing are essential.
Welding
2507 stainless steel boasts excellent weldability, compatible with various welding techniques including SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, and SAW. Use 2507/P100 filler metal to achieve the ideal duplex weld structure.
2507 is not required, except to prevent condensation on cold metal. The Interpass
