A Global Pioneer in Stainless Steel Pipe Fabrication Services Similar to most non-stainless steels, martensitic 410 stainless steel pipe can be strengthened through a "quench and temper" heat treatment process. It contains sufficient chromium (at least 11.5%) to combat corrosion. Its corrosion resistance is maximized when tempered and polished post-hardening. Known as a general-purpose grade of stainless steel pipe, the 410 stainless steel pipe is typically hardened but remains machinable, making it ideal for applications requiring moderate heat, corrosion resistance, and high strength. The standout feature of martensitic stainless steels is their exceptional hardness, though this comes at the expense of other properties. During fabrication, poor weldability must be managed, and a final heat treatment is usually necessary. Martensitic stainless steels exhibit lower corrosion resistance compared to ordinary austenitic stainless steels. Additionally, they lose ductility below freezing temperatures and strength above freezing temperatures due to over-tempering, restricting their operational temperature range. The 410 stainless steel pipe is a widely utilized 12% chromium martensitic stainless steel pipe, heat treatable to yield various mechanical properties. It boasts high strength and hardness while maintaining good corrosion resistance. The 410 Stainless Steel Tube is ductile, forgeable, and magnetic in all conditions, making it unsuitable for environments prone to severe corrosion.

Rapid Response

• Corrosion Resistance
  410 stainless steel is resistant to dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, foodstuffs, steam, and hot gases.
  It must be hardened for optimal heat and corrosion resistance, performing best when smooth.
  Heat Resistance
  Offers excellent resistance to scaling at temperatures up to approximately 650°C. However, usage between 400 and 580°C is generally not recommended due to reduced mechanical properties.
  Heat Treatment
  Fully anneal at 815-900°C, followed by slow furnace cooling to 600°C, then air cooling.
  Process anneal at 650-760°C and subsequently air cool.
  Welding
  Can be welded using all standard methods but requires preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing to minimize cracking risks.
