Our stainless steel bar processing machinery enables Daxun Alloys to produce to the precise specifications of our customers.

1. Daxun can perform heat treatments on our stainless steel bars. This will depend on the chemistry of the metal being treated. 2. Positive Material Identification (PMI) In some cases, additional Positive Material Identification testing may need to be completed. Daxun Stainless Steel Products can complete this testing in-house or work with an independent laboratory to complete the testing. 3. Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Utilizes high frequency sound energy to inspect and measure stainless steel bar products. This helps with defect detection/evaluation, dimensional measurement, etc.

GENERAL PROPERTIES

  • 310S alloy is an austenitic stainless steel bar that has excellent high temperature resistance characteristics while also being ductile and weldable. Due to its high chromium and nickel content, it is often used in high temperature applications, offering strong corrosion resistance, excellent oxidation resistance, and exceptional strength at temperatures up to 2100°F. Due to its high chromium and nickel content, it outperforms 304 or 309 stainless steel bars in most applications.

APPLICATIONS

  • Higher alloyed stainless steels often offer good strength at high temperatures, as well as exceptional resistance to creep deformation and environmental damage. As a result, Alloy 310 is widely employed in industries like heat treatment and chemical processing. Examples include:

RESISTANCE

Stainless Steel Alloy 310 Stainless Steel rods and Pipes offer excellent resistance to corrosion and heat, even in the most demanding environments.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

  • Provides excellent corrosion resistance
  • High chromium content allows for good aqueous corrosion resistance
  • Excellent resistance at normal temperatures and also has good resistance to oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres

HEAT RESISTANCE

  • Good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service in air at temperatures up to 1040°C and 1150°C in continuous service.
  • Good resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating.
  • Widely used where sulphur dioxide gas is encountered at elevated temperatures.
  • Continuous use in 425-860°C range not recommended due to carbide precipitation, if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is needed
  • Generally used at temperatures starting from about 800 or 900°C - above the temperatures at which 304H and 321 are effective.

 FABRICATION

  • Commonly used in the heat treatment and process industries due to high temperature and corrosive environments
  • Often fabricated into complex structures
  • Roller-forms, stamps and draws readily
  • Because 310Stainless Steel rods work hardens, severe forming operations should be followed by an anneal

WELDABILITY

  • Austenitic stainless steel is generally considered to be weldable
  • Generally considered to have weldability equivalent to 304 and 304L
  • Special consideration is needed to compensate for a higher coefficient of thermal expansion to avoid warping and distortion
