Daxun Alloys presents an extensive inventory of Duplex 2507, a super duplex stainless steel plate enriched with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This alloy is engineered for applications demanding exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for chemical processing, petrochemical industries, and seawater equipment. Known for its outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, Duplex 2507 also offers excellent thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel confer excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel featuring 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Designed for challenging applications requiring superior strength and corrosion resistance, it is ideal for chemical processing, petrochemical industries, and seawater equipment. The steel's remarkable resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking is complemented by its high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion. GENERAL CORROSION
For optimal results, 2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench to maintain its superior properties.
The cold working of 2507 stainless steel is compatible with most standard forming processes. However, due to its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels, additional forming forces, larger bending radii, and greater margins for springback may be required. Advanced forming processes like deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging with 2507. When deformation exceeds 10%, a solution anneal and quench is recommended to retain the material's integrity.
Post forming, 2507 stainless steel should undergo solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F followed by a quick air or water quench. For optimal corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should also be pickled and rinsed to perfection.
2507 stainless steel excels in weldability and can be joined with itself or other materials using various welding techniques such as SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, or SAW. To achieve the desired duplex weld structure, 2507/P100 filler metal should be used.
