Leading Stainless Steel Sheet Suppliers in China
Daxun can provide upon request: Alloy 17-4 (H900, UNS S17400) plates.
CORROSION RESISTANCE:
- Our products withstand corrosive attacks better than any standard hardenable stainless steels.
- Comparable to Alloy 304 in most media, providing excellent resistance.
- Resistant to corrosion in various chemical, petroleum, dairy, and food process industries.
- However, they are subject to crevice or pitting attacks if exposed to stagnant seawater for extended periods.
WELDABILITY:
- Easily welded using most standard fusion and resistance techniques, ensuring robust and reliable bonds.
- Avoid joining with oxyacetylene welding to maintain material integrity.
- Typically, no pre-heating is necessary, simplifying the welding process.
- Maintain an inter-pass temperature not exceeding 248°F for optimal results.
- Achieve superior toughness in welds after undergoing a complete heat treatment.
ELEVATED TEMPERATURE USE:
- Exhibits exceptional resistance to oxidation at temperatures up to approximately 1100°F.
- Prolonged exposure to high temperatures may reduce toughness in precipitation hardened states.
PROCESSING - HOT FORMING:
- For forging, heat uniformly to 2150-2200°F and maintain for half an hour per inch of thickness.
- Optimal hot forming temperature range is 650-900°F, while the steel retains its austenitic structure.
- To prepare for hardening, re-heat treat forgings at 1875-1925°F for best results.
- Cool forgings to below 90°F to refine grain structure.
PROCESSING - COLD FORMING:
- Alloy 17-4 is suitable for mild operations in the annealed (solution treated) state due to its hardness.
- For extensive cold working, heat treat to condition H1150 to prevent cracking.
- A bend radius greater than 7T is often necessary for proper forming.
- Re-aging at the precipitation-hardening temperature is recommended to enhance stress corrosion resistance after cold forming.
MACHINABILITY:
- This material can be machined in both its solution-treated and precipitation-hardening states.
Mechanical Properties
- Type 17-4PH stainless steel offers excellent mechanical properties-ideal for applications demanding high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance. It is a more cost-effective option compared to many high nickel non-ferrous alloys.
17-4PH Grade Stainless Steel Sheets Available in Multiple Finishes
Our stainless steel sheets come in a range of stunning finishes: brushed finish, 2B smooth finish, or 8K mirror finish.
Each stainless steel sheet's finished side is coated with a protective film that is easily removable after fabrication or installation, shielding the surface from wear and marks. The reverse side remains unfinished.
