Engineered for applications demanding robust strength and superior corrosion resistance, this alloy is ideal for sectors such as chemical processing, petrochemical industries, and seawater equipment. It offers exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, boasts excellent thermal conductivity, and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel ensure remarkable resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a premium super duplex stainless steel containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This alloy is meticulously designed to meet the rigorous demands of applications requiring exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion, such as chemical processing, petrochemical industries, and seawater equipment. It is highly resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and features excellent thermal conductivity along with a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The elevated chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content ensures outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench to ensure structural integrity.
Cold working 2507 aligns with standard stainless steel processes. Its higher yield strength and lower ductility may require greater forming forces, larger bending radii, and allowances for springback. Processes like deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging than with austenitic steels. For deformations over 10%, a solution anneal and quench is recommended.
Post-forming, 2507 should undergo solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by a quick air or water quench. Heat treated products should be pickled and rinsed to achieve optimal corrosion resistance.
2507 boasts excellent weldability, compatible with SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, and SAW methods. Use 2507/P100 filler metal for the desired duplex weld structure when welding.
2507 does not generally require insulation, except to prevent condensation on cold metal. The Interpass
