Designed for applications demanding exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment, this alloy stands out. It exhibits outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, impressive thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content guarantee excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a premier super duplex stainless steel containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Crafted for rigorous applications that require superior strength and corrosion resistance, it excels in chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. Exceptionally resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, it also offers high thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its elevated levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel provide formidable resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
Hot work 2507 between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F, and a rapid air or water quench to maintain its exceptional properties.
Cold working 2507 stainless steel aligns with most standard stainless steel processes. Its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels may require increased forming forces, larger bending radii, and greater allowances for springback. For cold deformations exceeding 10%, a solution anneal and quench are recommended to restore optimal properties.
Post hot or cold forming, solution anneal and quench 2507 stainless steel at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by a rapid air or water quench. To achieve superior corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should undergo pickling and rinsing.
2507 stainless steel excels in weldability and can be joined using methods such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux cored wire (FCW), or submerged arc welding (SAW). Use 2507/P100 filler metal to ensure a robust duplex weld structure.
2507 is not required, except to prevent condensation on cold metal. The Interpass
