Corrosion Resistance
The 410 stainless steel plate showcases remarkable resistance to dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, foods, steam, and hot gases, making it an ideal choice for diverse environmental conditions.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, it is imperative to harden the 410 stainless steel. It delivers the best performance when its surface is kept smooth.
Heat Resistance
This steel exhibits good resistance to scaling at temperatures up to approximately 650°C. However, it is generally not recommended for applications where the operating temperature ranges between 400 and 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
To fully anneal, heat the material to 815-900°C, then allow it to cool slowly in a furnace to 600°C before air cooling.
For process annealing, heat to 650-760°C and then air cool.
Welding
The 410 stainless steel plate can be easily welded using all standard methods. Preheat to 150-260°C and perform post-weld annealing to minimize the risk of cracking.
