This alloy is designed for high-strength and corrosion-resistant applications, making it ideal for sectors such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. Duplex 2507 shows exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, excellent thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content ensures superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel featuring 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Engineered for demanding applications that require both high strength and superior corrosion resistance, it is perfect for use in chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. This steel is highly resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, possesses excellent thermal conductivity, and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The alloy's high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel levels afford outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
For optimal results, 2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
Cold forming 2507 is feasible with most standard stainless steel processing techniques. Although it has a higher yield strength and lower ductility than austenitic steels, which may require more force, larger bending radii, and additional allowance for springback. Techniques like deep drawing and stretch forming are more complex compared to austenitic stainless steel. For deformations exceeding 10%, a solution anneal and quench is recommended.
After hot or cold forming, 2507 should undergo solution annealing and quenching at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by rapid air or water quenching. For optimal corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed thoroughly.
2507 stainless steel features impressive weldability and can be seamlessly joined to itself or other materials using SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, or SAW techniques. For the optimal duplex weld structure, 2507/P100 filler metal is recommended.
2507 requires no additional treatments except to prevent condensation on cold metal surfaces.
