Corrosion Resistance
The 410 stainless steel exhibits robust resistance to dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, foods, steam, and hot gases, making it remarkably versatile.
For achieving maximum heat and corrosion resistance, the material must be hardened. Optimal performance is obtained when the surface is smooth.
Heat Resistance
Boasting good resistance to scaling up to approximately 650°C, this material is generally not recommended for use at temperatures ranging from 400 to 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
Fully anneal at 815-900°C, followed by a slow furnace cooling process to 600°C, and then air cooling.
For process annealing, heat the material to 650-760°C and allow it to air cool.
Welding
Easily welded using standard methods. Requires preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing to minimize the risk of cracking.
