AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed) for high-performance needs
AMS 4965 - Bars and Forgings (Solution treated and aged) for enhanced durability
AMS 4967 - Bars and Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable) for versatile applications
In the solution treated and aged condition, rapid quenching of small sections ensures optimum properties. Larger sections or delayed quenching can result in suboptimal properties.
Typical hardness ranges from Rockwell C 30-34 in the annealed state to Rockwell C 35-39 in the solution and aged condition.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar boasts machinability using austenitic stainless steel techniques. Employing slow machining speeds, high feeds, rigid tools, and abundant non-chlorinated cutting fluids ensures optimal results.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod demonstrates excellent weldability both in annealed and partially aged conditions, with aging achieved during post-weld heat treatment. It is critical to prevent contamination with oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding should be performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with inert gas protection for the molten metal and adjacent heated zones, utilizing a tail shield. Spot, seam, and flash welding are feasible even without a protective atmosphere.
Special attention is required for the Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rod as it can be contaminated by hydrogen during improper pickling, and by oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during forging, heat treating, brazing, etc. Such contamination can reduce ductility, negatively impacting notch sensitivity and forming characteristics.
Customized bar production to meet specific requirements.
Features include excellent surface finish, straightness, perfect roundness, and tightest diameter tolerances (ISO 286-2 up to h5). Available in straightened, ground, polished conditions.

The general corrosion rates for Grade 2 titanium in various media are shown in Table 1. CP titanium exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to a broad range of environments including:
CP titanium shows excellent resistance to crevice corrosion in salt solutions compared to stainless steels. CP titanium will not exhibit crevice corrosion at temperatures under 80 °C (176°F) regardless of pH, even under super-chlorinated conditions.
Grade 2 titanium exhibits excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hot chloride solutions and is immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium shows excellent resistance to erosion in flowing conditions, ensuring durability and performance.
In seawater with velocities reaching up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), our material exhibits negligible effects from corrosion. Even the presence of abrasive particles like sand has only a minor impact.
Titanium exposed to seawater, even at elevated temperatures, shows no significant absorption of hydrogen. Hydrogen absorption typically only occurs when all three of the following conditions are met:
Titanium alloys exhibit exceptional resistance to microbiologically influenced corrosion. However, since they are non-toxic to marine organisms, biofouling can occur. This can be mitigated by chlorination or by increasing water velocity through heat exchangers.
Unlike many other materials, titanium does not suffer a decrease in fatigue performance in seawater. Fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates remain consistent whether tested in air or seawater.
Positioned towards the noble end of the galvanic series near stainless steels, titanium usually acts as a cathode when paired with other metals. Thus, titanium itself remains unaffected by galvanic corrosion but can expedite the corrosion of the other metal. When coupled with more noble metals like graphite, titanium's passivity is further enhanced.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod maintains its fatigue properties even in seawater. Both fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates are unchanged whether in air or seawater.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rod is highly weldable with proper precautions. Due to titanium's reactivity, an inert gas shield is required on both the OD and ID of the rod, and the material must be clean of grease or oil.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod is typically welded using manual or automatic TIG welding, with or without filler wire. Using low heat input minimizes the heat affected zone, and post-weld heat treatment is generally not necessary.
