This composition allows them to develop exceptional stainless characteristics due to the formation of a durable and invisible Chromium-rich oxide film. Alloy 347 is a versatile austenitic stainless steel featuring a face-centered cubic structure. In its annealed condition, it remains essentially non-magnetic and can only be hardened through cold working. The addition of Niobium effectively suppresses grain boundary Chromium Carbide precipitation.
