The 317L Stainless Steel Pipe is a superior, molybdenum-enriched, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel. Enhanced with more chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, it offers remarkable resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure to substances such as sulfite, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. Its low carbon content prevents sensitization during welding, and it boasts higher creep, rupture stress, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. While it remains nonmagnetic in its annealed state, it may become slightly magnetic after welding.
The 317L seamless pipe is extensively utilized in managing sulfur, pulp liquors, acid dyes, acetylation, and nitration mixtures, as well as bleaching solutions, heavy coal and petroleum, and various chemical compounds. Additional applications for the 317L alloy include:
