Our stock at Daxun Alloys now features Duplex 2507-a super duplex stainless steel plate composed of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Tailored for applications demanding high strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment, this alloy excels in chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. It also offers excellent thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The substantial chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content provides robust resistance against pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel featuring 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Engineered for demanding environments requiring exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, it is ideal for chemical processes, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. It shows remarkable resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, along with high thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel ensure excellent resistance to pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
For optimal results, 2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench to maintain its desired properties.
Cold working the 2507 alloy is compatible with most standard stainless steel forming processes. Due to its higher yield strength yet lower ductility compared to austenitic steels, fabricators may need to apply greater forming forces, use larger bending radii, and allow for more springback. Processes like deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging on 2507 than on austenitic stainless steel. When cold deformation exceeds 10%, a solution anneal and quench is recommended to preserve its structural integrity.
Post-forming, 2507 should undergo solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F followed by rapid air or water quenching. This procedure ensures optimal corrosion resistance. For best results, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
2507 exhibits excellent weldability and can be seamlessly joined to itself or other materials using various welding techniques such as SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, or SAW. Employing 2507/P100 filler metal during welding ensures the desired duplex weld structure.
