This advanced alloy is perfect for high-strength, corrosion-resistant applications in chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. It offers outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, excellent thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The elevated levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel ensure superior resistance to pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) from Daxun Alloys is a super duplex stainless steel featuring 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Engineered for demanding environments requiring high strength and exceptional corrosion resistance, it's ideal for chemical processes, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. This steel excels in resisting chloride stress corrosion cracking, offers high thermal conductivity, and maintains a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content provide excellent resistance to pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
For optimal performance, 2507 should be hot worked within the temperature range of 1875°F to 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
Cold working Baosteel 2507 is compatible with most standard stainless steel forming processes. Given its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels, fabricators might need to apply more force, use a larger bending radius, and allow for a greater springback margin. Procedures like deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging with 2507 than with austenitic stainless steel. If forming involves more than 10% cold deformation, a solution anneal and quench are recommended.
Post hot or cold forming, Baosteel 2507 should undergo solution annealing and quenching at a temperature of at least 1925°F, followed by a rapid air or water quench. To maximize corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
Baosteel 2507 boasts excellent weldability and can be joined to itself or other materials using various techniques such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux cored wire (FCW), or submerged arc welding (SAW). For desired duplex weld structures, use 2507/P100 filler metal when welding 2507.
