Corrosion Resistance
410 stainless steel is exceptionally resilient against dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, foods, steam, and hot gases.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, it must be hardened. The performance is best when the surface is smooth.
Heat Resistance
This material demonstrates good resistance to scaling up to approximately 650°C. However, it is generally not recommended for use at temperatures between 400 and 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
For full annealing, heat to 815-900°C, followed by slow furnace cooling to 600°C, and then air cooling.
Process anneal by heating to 650-760°C and allowing it to air cool.
Welding
Easily welded by all standard methods. Preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing are essential to minimize the risk of cracking.
Stainless Steel Plate Surface Description
