A global leader in stainless steel pipe fabrication services Similar to other non-stainless steels, martensitic 410 stainless steel pipe can achieve toughness through a 'quench and temper' heat treatment. With a chromium content of at least 11.5%, it offers corrosion resistance, especially when tempered and polished post-hardening. Known as a versatile grade, the 410 stainless steel pipe stands out for its machinability and suitability for applications requiring moderate heat, corrosion resistance, and high strength. While the hallmark of martensitic stainless steels is their exceptional hardness, some other properties are compromised. Challenges like poor weldability necessitate specific fabrication considerations, often concluding with a final heat treatment. Compared to austenitic stainless steels, martensitic variants exhibit reduced corrosion resistance and become less ductile below freezing temperatures, while losing strength above freezing due to over-tempering. Consequently, their operational temperature range is limited. The 410 stainless steel pipe, a widely used 12% chromium martensitic stainless steel, can be heat treated to achieve various mechanical properties. It combines high strength and hardness with good corrosion resistance and remains ductile and forgeable. Its magnetic properties are consistent across different conditions. However, it is not recommended for environments prone to severe corrosion.
Stainless Steel Welded TubesOur stainless steel tubular products, meticulously crafted from premium stainless steel strips, are expertly roll-formed and fusion-welded along the longitudinal seam. At Daxun, our welding process is unparalleled, employing no filler metal to ensure superior integrity.
Quick Response
- Corrosion Resistance
The 410 stainless steel is resistant to dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, food products, steam, and hot gases.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, it must be hardened. Its best performance is achieved when the surface is smooth.
Heat Resistance
Exhibits good resistance to scaling up to approximately 650°C, but generally not recommended for use between 400 and 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
Fully anneal at 815-900°C, followed by a slow furnace cool to 600°C, then air cool.
Process anneal at 650-760°C and then air cool.
Welding
Easily welded by all standard methods. Preheating to 150-260°C and post weld annealing are recommended to minimize the risk of cracking.
