Type 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel offering corrosion resistance comparable to 304/304L. Ideal for applications in the 800-1500˚F temperature range, it is stabilized against chromium carbide precipitation by the addition of titanium. This results in the formation of titanium carbides, providing superior intergranular corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F. Type 321 also boasts stronger creep and stress rupture qualities compared to 304/304L, retains strength at low temperatures, and remains non-magnetic when annealed.
