Type 201 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steel designed to conserve nickel. Type 201 is a low-cost alternative to typical Cr-Ni stainless steels such as 301 and 304. The nickel is replaced by manganese and nitrogen. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but can achieve high tensile strength by cold working. Type 201 is inherently non-magnetic in the annealed state, but becomes magnetic after cold working. 201 grade stainless steel is a mid-range product that is often used in appliances, cookers, sinks, kitchen utensils, and catering equipment. It is also used in automotive parts and fixtures, carriages, and window trim. Its structural strength makes it suitable for these areas. However, it is not always a viable choice for outdoor structural applications because it is susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion from factors such as seawater.

- Daxun also conducts several quality assurance tests. These tests include flattening test, pitting and resistance test, mechanical test, hardness test, material positive identification, expansion test, etc. All these tests ensure that the material is suitable for the required application.
