Grade 2 Titanium Rod is the workhorse among titanium alloy rods, offering an excellent balance of strength and weight for weight-sensitive applications. As a CP (commercially pure) titanium alloy, it combines high impact strength, excellent ductility, and ease of welding. Its extreme corrosion resistance in oxidizing conditions, alkaline media, brine solutions, wet ***, and seawater makes it ideal for various demanding environments. With its low density and high strength-to-weight ratio, Grade 2 Titanium Rod is perfect for numerous applications.

AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed)
AMS 4965 - Bars, Forgings (Solution treated and aged)
AMS 4967 - Bars, Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable)
In the solution-treated and aged condition, rapid quenching of small sections yields optimum properties. Larger section sizes or delayed quenching may result in suboptimal properties.
Typical hardness in the annealed condition is Rockwell C 30-34, and in the solution and aged condition, it is approximately Rockwell C 35-39.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar is optimally machined using austenitic stainless steel methods, characterized by slow machining speeds, high feeds, sturdy tools, and copious amounts of non-chlorinated cutting fluids.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod exhibits excellent weldability in both the annealed condition and the solution and partially aged condition, with aging facilitated during post-weld heat treatment. It's essential to prevent contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding is most effective within an inert gas-filled chamber or by using inert gas to shield the molten metal and adjacent heated areas, paired with a tail shield. Spot, seam, and flash welding can proceed without a protective atmosphere.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rod is susceptible to hydrogen contamination from improper pickling, and to oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon contamination during forging, heat treating, and brazing processes. Such contamination may reduce ductility, negatively impacting notch sensitivity and forming characteristics.
We manufacture bars tailored to your specific requirements.

Titanium Usage Advisory: Avoid strong reducing acids, fluoride solutions, pure oxygen, or anhydrous ***.
Table 1 showcases general corrosion rates for Grade 2 Titanium across various media. Commercially Pure (CP) titanium is renowned for its corrosion resistance in diverse environments including:
CP Titanium exhibits superior resistance to crevice corrosion in salt solutions, outperforming stainless steels. It remains unaffected by crevice corrosion at temperatures below 80°C (176°F), even under super chlorinated conditions.
Grade 2 Titanium demonstrates excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hot chloride solutions and is immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium showcases outstanding resistance to erosion in flowing environments
Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd.'s Quality Pure Titanium Rod Gr2 ASTM B348 exhibits phenomenal resilience in seawater with velocities up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), showing negligible effects on the material. Even the presence of abrasive particles like sand imparts only a minimal impact on corrosion resistance.
Remarkably, titanium shows no significant absorption of hydrogen when exposed to seawater, even at elevated temperatures. Hydrogen absorption is typically observed only under these specific conditions:
Titanium alloys from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. display unique immunity to all forms of microbiologically influenced corrosion. Despite the non-toxicity to marine organisms leading to potential biofouling in seawater, this can be effectively controlled by chlorination or by increasing water velocity through heat exchangers.
Unlike many materials, titanium showcases remarkable resilience, maintaining its fatigue performance even in the presence of seawater. Fatigue endurance limits and fatigue *** growth rates are consistent whether tested in air or seawater.
In the galvanic series, titanium is positioned near the noble end close to stainless steels, generally acting as a cathode when coupled with other metals. Thus, titanium remains unaffected by galvanic corrosion but can accelerate the corrosion of the other metal. When paired with more noble metals like graphite, titanium's passivity is further enhanced.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. maintains its impressive fatigue properties in the presence of seawater, with fatigue endurance limits and fatigue *** growth rates remaining stable whether tested in air or seawater.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rod is highly weldable, provided that essential precautions are observed. Due to titanium's reactivity, an inert gas shield must be applied on both the OD and ID of the rod, and the material must be free from any grease or oil contamination.
Grade 2 Titanium Rods are commonly welded using manual or automatic TIG welding, with or without filler wire. To minimize the heat-affected zone, low heat input should be used, and typically, Titanium Rods are not post-weld heat treated.
