Type 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel offering corrosion resistance akin to 304/304L. Frequently employed in the 800-1500˚F temperature range, this grade is fortified against chromium carbide precipitation through the addition of titanium, leading to the formation of titanium carbides. Type 321 boasts exceptional intergranular corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F, and enhanced creep and stress rupture properties compared to 304/304L. It also maintains strength at low temperatures and remains non-magnetic when annealed.
