Daxun Alloy's premium pure titanium Grade 1 tubes include:
seamless and welded titanium tubes, renowned for their outstanding ductility and cold formability, making them perfect for deep drawing applications. Grade 1 titanium tubes excel in general and seawater corrosion resistance and offer remarkable resistance to oxidizing, neutral, and slightly reducing media (including chlorides).
Titanium's low density (approximately half that of nickel-based alloys), combined with its high strength, light weight, and superior corrosion resistance, makes it an exceptional choice for demanding chemical environments. Adhering to standards such as ASTM B338, ASTM B265, ASME SB265, ASTM F67, ISO 5832-2, 3.7025, UNS R50250, these tubes meet the highest quality and performance criteria.
Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)
Grade 2 titanium tubes are the go-to choice for industrial applications, offering an ideal balance of moderate strength and exceptional ductility. They provide outstanding corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and mildly reducing environments (including chlorides). These tubes are highly valued in chemical and offshore industries, as well as in aircraft manufacturing, where strength and formability are crucial. They are also utilized in heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, industrial and aerospace components, CPI equipment, and piping.
Fabrication
Titanium Grade 2 is highly responsive to cold forming using standard techniques. While it can be readily machined, it is essential to maintain sharp tools and ensure liberal coolant application. Similar to machining austenitic stainless steels, deep and continuous cuts with slow feeds and speeds are recommended.
Stock Availability
Daxun Alloys maintains a comprehensive inventory of CP 2 Grade Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in a wide range of sizes, ready to meet diverse industry needs.
Weight Reduction
CP 2 grade titanium tubes boast low density and a superior strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for applications that require weight reduction without compromising strength. They exhibit excellent cold formability and ductility, and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG processes, with inert gas shielding to prevent weld zone embrittlement.
Crystal Structure
At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tube features an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure, similar to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. Around 885°C (1625°F), it transforms into a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transformation temperature can vary depending on impurities or alloying additions. Alloying elements divide the single transformation temperature into alpha and beta zones, with the alpha zone below the alpha transformation temperature and the beta zone above the beta transformation temperature. For Grade 2 titanium, typical alpha and beta transformation temperatures are 890°C (1635°F) and 913°C (1675°F), respectively.
Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium seamless tubes are crafted from hollow blanks via hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing, followed by multiple cold rolling stages. The manufacturing process ensures continuous perimeters at all stages, including sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, blanking, cleaning, cutting, feeding, hot extrusion or oblique rolling plus piercing, degreasing, drying, cutting, online annealing, straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, pickling, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.
Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's premium ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium welded pipe is masterfully crafted from annealed flat-rolled steel plate or steel strip, utilizing the sophisticated automatic arc welding (TIG) process. The comprehensive production journey includes: titanium plate uncoiling, precise shearing, seamless butt welding, meticulous cleaning, pipe forming, TIG welding, thorough eddy current testing, pre-sizing, expert annealing, precision reducing, sizing, straightening, eddy current testing again, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, and rigorous hydrostatic testing. Following a final inspection, the product is pristinely packaged. Each welded pipe undergoes at least one stress relief heat treatment post formation and welding. Daxun ensures the highest quality by avoiding the use of any filler materials during the welding process.
Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Pipe - Grade 5 Titanium Tube
Titanium Alloy - (UNS R56400)
Introduction
DAXUN's renowned Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, recognized as Grade 5 (UNS R56400), stands as the pinnacle of titanium alloys. This duplex alpha+beta titanium marvel incorporates aluminum as the alpha stabilizer and vanadium as the beta stabilizer. Boasting exceptional high-strength capabilities, it performs exceptionally at low temperatures around 800°F (427°C). ATI Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy is indispensable in applications such as annealing, solution treating, and aging, making it perfect for compressor blades, disks, and rings for jet engines; fuselage and space capsule components; pressure vessels; *** cases; helicopter rotor hubs; fasteners; and critical forgings where a superior strength-to-weight ratio is essential.
This extraordinary alloy is initially melted using advanced techniques like vacuum arc (VAR), electron beam (EB), or plasma arc hearth melting (PAM). The remelting process involves one or two vacuum arc steps to ensure superior quality.

Optimum Properties
For the highest quality, small cross-sections with rapid quenching are achieved in the solution treated and aged condition. Larger cross-section sizes or delayed quenching may result in properties that are less than optimal.
Hardness
Typically, the hardness in the annealed condition ranges from Rockwell C 30-34, while in the solution treated and aged condition, it ranges approximately from Rockwell C 35-39.
Forgeability/Formability
Experience unparalleled strength and resilience with the DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5. This premium titanium tube is meticulously forged at an optimal 1,750°F (954°C) and reaches its final forging at 1,450°F (788°C). For superior performance, a reduction of at least 35% is recommended.
The DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5, showcases formidable strength, even in challenging conditions. Though difficult to form at room temperature, it excels when annealed. Severe forming operations like bending or stretching can be performed at temperatures up to 1,200°F (649°C) without altering its mechanical integrity. For hot sizing or forming, consider creep forming within a temperature range of 1,000 to 1,200°F (538 to 649°C).
Machinability
Unlock the full potential of the DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5, with precise machining. Employ techniques tailored for austenitic stainless steels, maintaining slow speeds, high feeds, and robust tool rigidity. Ensure optimal results by using ample non-chlorinated cutting fluids.
Weldability
The DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5, stands out for its exceptional weldability. Whether in the annealed or solution and partially aged conditions, this titanium tube is primed for seamless welding.
Post-weld heat treatment is crucial for achieving desired aging. Take precautions to avoid contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding is best performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with an inert gas tail shield over the molten metal and adjacent hot zones. Spot welding, seam welding, and flash welding can be executed without a protective atmosphere.
Special Considerations
Ensure the integrity of the DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5, by avoiding hydrogen contamination from improper pickling and the absorption of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during forging, heat treating, brazing, and similar processes. Such contamination can reduce ductility and compromise notch sensitivity and formability.
