Its yield strength is double that of standard austenitic grades, and it boasts exceptional fatigue strength. Manufacturers suggest a maximum hot forming temperature between 2010 and 2100°F (1100 to 1150°C). When the workpiece isn't compact, cooler edges may lead to cracking.
Duplex 2205 exhibits good formability in various fabrications. However, its high strength can pose challenges. Consideration for higher spring-back due to its strength is necessary, even if equipment power is sufficient.
