Daxun Alloy's Pure Titanium Grade 1 Tubes Include:
Seamless titanium tubes and welded titanium tubes, each renowned for their exceptional ductility and cold formability, making them ideal for deep drawing applications. Grade 1 titanium tubes exhibit outstanding general and seawater corrosion resistance, as well as excellent resistance to oxidizing, neutral, and slightly reducing media, including chloride solutions.
Titanium's low density-about half that of nickel-based alloys-combined with its high strength, light weight, and superior corrosion resistance, makes it the material of choice for a variety of harsh chemical conditions. These tubes adhere to stringent execution standards, including ASTM B338, ASTM B265, ASME SB265, ASTM F67, ISO 5832-2, 3.7025, and UNS R50250.

Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)

This titanium tube is the preferred choice for industrial applications, thanks to its balanced combination of moderate strength and ductility. It offers exceptional corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and slightly reducing environments, including chlorides. Grade 2 titanium is widely used in the chemical and offshore industries, as well as in aircraft manufacturing where strength and formability are critical. It's also utilized in heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, industrial and aerospace components, CPI equipment, and piping.

Fabrication

Titanium Grade 2 responds excellently to cold forming using standard methods. It is readily machinable, but careful attention to maintaining sharp tools and liberal use of coolant is necessary. Similar to machining austenitic stainless steels, cuts should be deep and continuous with slow feeds and speeds to ensure optimal performance.

Stock Availability

Daxun Alloys maintains a robust inventory of CP Grade 2 Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in various sizes to meet diverse customer needs.

Weight Reduction

With a low density and an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, CP Grade 2 titanium tubes are perfect for applications requiring weight reduction without compromising strength. They are easily cold formable, possess good ductility, and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG processes, though inert gas shielding is essential to prevent embrittlement of the weld zone.

Crystal Structure

At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tubes possess an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure, akin to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. At approximately 885°C (1625°F), this structure transitions to a beta (body-centered cubic) form. This transformation temperature can be influenced by impurities or alloying elements, which may also divide the transformation into two separate temperature zones: the alpha transformation zone and the beta transformation zone. Within these zones, the material exists in alpha and beta forms, respectively. For Grade 2 titanium, typical alpha and beta transformation temperatures are 890°C (1635°F) and 913°C (1675°F).

Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process

Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium seamless tubes are meticulously crafted from hollow blanks through hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing processes, followed by multiple cold rolling stages. Throughout every production phase, seamless tubes maintain continuous perimeters. The intricate manufacturing process includes sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, ingot blanking, hollow blank cleaning, cutting, and feeding; hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing; degreasing, drying, cutting; online annealing and straightening; pickling, multiple cold rolling; degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, pickling; final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.

Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process

Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe is crafted with precision from annealed flat-rolled steel plate or steel strip through the advanced automatic arc welding (TIG) process. Our meticulous production processes include titanium plate uncoiling, shearing butt welding, cleaning, pipe forming, TIG welding, eddy current testing, pre-sizing, annealing, precision reducing and sizing, straightening, eddy current testing, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection, and packaging. To ensure optimal integrity, welded pipes undergo at least one stress relief heat treatment post-formation and welding. Remarkably, Daxun utilizes filler materials during the welding process, ensuring superior quality and durability.
