316/316L stainless steel alloy is an exceptional austenitic stainless steel pipe infused with molybdenum. The heightened levels of nickel and molybdenum in this grade significantly enhance its overall corrosion resistance compared to 304, particularly in pitting and crevice corrosion under chloride conditions. Furthermore, 316/316L seamless pipe boasts outstanding high temperature tensile, creep, and stress rupture strength, coupled with excellent formability and weldability. The 316L variant, being a low carbon form of 316, is highly resistant to sensitization and is thus extensively utilized for large-sized welded components.
