Corrosion Resistance
410 stainless steel boasts exceptional resistance to dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, food substances, steam, and hot gases.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, 410 stainless steel must be hardened. It performs best when its surface is smooth and polished.
Heat Resistance
The 410 stainless steel plate demonstrates impressive resistance to scaling up to approximately 650°C. However, it is generally not recommended for use at temperatures ranging from 400 to 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties at these levels.
Heat Treatment
The material should be fully annealed at temperatures between 815-900°C, followed by a slow furnace cooling to 600°C, and then air cooling.
For process annealing, heat the material to 650-760°C and then air cool.
Welding
410 stainless steel can be easily welded using all standard methods. However, it requires preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing to minimize the risk of cracking.
Description of the Stainless Steel Plate Surface

| No.3 | Intermediate 100-120 grit finish; used for applications in which surface polishing is performed after shaping. |
| No.4 | General 150-180 grit finish; used for restaurants and kitchen equipment and tools. |
| #240 | 240 grit finish; used when a finer finish than No. 4 is required; typically for restaurants and kitchen equipment and tools. |
| #320 | 320 grit finish polished product. |
| HL | This finish is performed by continuous linear polishing using an abrasive of appropriate grain size; mainly used for architectural applications. |
| BA | Achieved by performing bright annealing after cold rolling and then skin pass rolling to obtain even greater reflectance; provides excellent corrosion resistance; used for household appliances, kitchen equipment, and automobiles. |
