The 317L Stainless Steel Pipe is a sophisticated molybdenum-containing, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel. Enhanced with additional chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, it offers superior corrosion and chemical resistance, particularly against sulfite, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. Its low carbon content ensures resistance to sensitization during welding and delivers higher creep, rupture stress, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. This steel is nonmagnetic when annealed but may gain slight magnetism post-welding.
317L seamless pipe is indispensable in handling sulfur, pulp liquors, acid dyes, acetylation, and nitration mixtures, as well as bleaching solutions, heavy coal, petroleum, and various chemical compounds. Additional applications of this versatile alloy include:
