Titanium Tube Manufacturing Types: Titanium Welded Tube
Tubular products made from strips are roll-formed and fusion-welded along a longitudinal seam. Daxun's advanced welding processes do not use any filler metals, ensuring superior strength and uniformity.

Titanium Welded & Drawn Tubing
Welded tubing undergoes redrawing to achieve its final size, making it ideal for producing heavy wall-to-diameter tubes. This process offers cost savings compared to seamless tubes. Daxun's welded and drawn tubes are always bright annealed for optimal quality.

Titanium Seamless Tubing
Seamless tubes are created by drawing from tube hollows, formed by piercing a billet or hot extrusion. Ideal for heavy diameter-to-wall ratios, seamless tubes offer excellent dimensional tolerances and robust performance.

Stock Availability

Daxun Alloys maintains a comprehensive stock of CP 2 Grade Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in various sizes.

Weight Reduction

CP 2 grade titanium tubes boast a low density and a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for applications requiring weight reduction without compromising strength. These tubes are highly cold formable, possess good ductility, and can be welded using standard TIG and MIG processes, with inert gas shielding necessary to prevent weld zone embrittlement.

Crystal Structure

At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 Titanium Tube has an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure, similar to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. Upon reaching approximately 885°C [1625°F], it transitions to a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transformation temperature can vary based on impurities or alloying additions. The addition of alloying elements results in two transformation temperature zones: the alpha transformation zone (below which the alloy is entirely alpha) and the beta transformation zone (above which the alloy is entirely beta). Between these zones, both alpha and beta forms co-exist. Typical alpha and beta transformation temperatures for Grade 2 Titanium are 890°C (1635°F) and 913°C (1675°F), respectively.

Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process

Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Tubes are produced from hollow blanks via hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing processes, followed by multiple cold rolling stages. Throughout the manufacturing process, the tubes maintain continuous perimeters. The comprehensive manufacturing steps include: sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, ingot blanking to create hollow blanks, cleaning, cutting and feeding, hot extrusion or oblique rolling + piercing, degreasing, drying, cutting, online annealing and straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, pickling, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.

Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process

Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium welded pipe is crafted from the finest annealed flat-rolled steel plate or steel strip, utilizing the precision of the automatic arc welding (TIG) process. The meticulous production journey includes: titanium plate uncoiling, shearing, butt welding, cleaning, pipe forming, TIG welding, eddy current testing, pre-sizing, annealing, precision reducing and sizing, straightening, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection, and packaging. Each welded pipe undergoes at least one stress relief heat treatment post-forming and welding. At Daxun, we ensure no filler materials are used during the welding process, guaranteeing purity and strength.
