Grade 5 titanium alloy rod (titanium aluminum vanadium alloy) stands as the most commonly utilized α-β titanium alloy, representing 50% of the global titanium alloy usage. Notably, Grade 5 titanium alloy is fully heat treatable and performs efficiently at temperatures as high as 400°C. With a low density (4.43 kg/dm), outstanding corrosion resistance, and superior mechanical strength, this alloy is unparalleled. Grade 5 titanium alloy boasts high tensile strength at ambient temperature and excellent creep resistance up to 300°C. Its robust *** and fatigue resistance make it an ideal option for demanding applications. The age-hardening capability of 6AL-4V titanium alloy rods ensures they are perfect for fasteners and components in challenging environments. Moreover, its high machinability and weldability make it suitable for diverse industrial applications.
DAXUN® Ti Grade 5 is a titanium alloy bar (6al-4v) exhibiting:
Daxun produces top-tier titanium bars with exceptional performance and can also tailor manufacturing to customer specifications:
Daxun conducts multiple quality assurance tests, including mechanical tests like area tensile, chemical analysis, material positive identification (PMI), micro and macro testing, intergranular corrosion (IGC) test, ultrasonic flaw detection, pitting and resistance test, hardness test, material positive identification, expansion test, etc. These comprehensive tests ensure that Grade 2 Titanium Rod and Grade 2 Titanium Round Bar materials meet all application requirements. Throughout production, we meticulously measure the diameter, thickness, and surface of our products.

AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed)
AMS 4965 - Bars, Forgings (Solution Treated and Aged)
AMS 4967 - Bars, Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable)
Rapid quenching of small sections in the solution treated and aged condition yields optimum properties. Delays or larger sections may result in suboptimal properties.
Typical hardness ranges: Annealed condition - Rockwell C 30-34; Solution and aged condition - Rockwell C 35-39.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar can be expertly machined using methods designed for austenitic stainless steel. Employ slow machining speeds, high feeds, and rigid tools, along with a copious application of non-chlorinated cutting fluids to achieve optimal results.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod offers excellent weldability in the annealed state, as well as in the solution and partially aged conditions. Aging can be completed during post-weld heat treatment. It's crucial to prevent contamination by oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding can be performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with inert gas shielding for the molten metal and adjacent heated areas, using a tail shield. Spot, seam, and flash welding can also be performed without a protective atmosphere.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rod is susceptible to contamination by hydrogen from improper pickling and by oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during processes such as forging, heat treating, and brazing. Such contamination can lead to a loss of ductility, adversely affecting notch sensitivity and forming characteristics.
We manufacture bars tailored to your specific requirements.
Our bars exhibit excellent surface finish and straightness, perfect roundness, and the tightest diameter tolerances in accordance with ISO 286-2 standards, up to h5. Available in straightened, ground, and polished conditions.

Titanium is unsuitable for use with strong reducing acids, fluoride solutions, pure oxygen, or anhydrous ***.
Grade 2 Titanium exhibits excellent general corrosion resistance in various media, as shown in Table 1. CP titanium resists corrosion in many environments, including:
CP titanium offers superior resistance to crevice corrosion in salt solutions compared to stainless steels. It withstands temperatures up to 80°C (176°F) without crevice corrosion, regardless of pH, even under super chlorinated conditions.
Grade 2 titanium displays excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hot chloride solutions and remains immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium showcases excellent resistance to erosion in flowing environments.
In seawater conditions with velocities reaching up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), our titanium material shows negligible impact. Even the presence of abrasive particles such as sand has only a minimal effect on its corrosion resistance.
Titanium exposed to seawater does not significantly absorb hydrogen, even at elevated temperatures. Typically, hydrogen absorption occurs only under these three conditions:
Titanium alloys exhibit exceptional immunity to all forms of microbiologically influenced corrosion. They do not exhibit toxicity towards marine organisms, leading to potential biofouling in seawater. This can be mitigated by chlorination or increasing water velocity through the heat exchanger.
Unlike many materials, titanium does not experience reduced fatigue performance in seawater. Fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates remain consistent whether tested in air or seawater.
Among the galvanic series, titanium is positioned near the noble end, close to stainless steels, and usually acts as a cathode when coupled with other metals. Thus, titanium remains unaffected by galvanic corrosion and can actually accelerate the corrosion of other metals. Coupling titanium with more noble metals like graphite further enhances its passivity.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod maintains its fatigue properties even in the presence of seawater. Its fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates do not degrade whether tested in air or seawater.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rod is highly weldable, provided necessary precautions are followed. Due to titanium's reactivity, an inert gas shield is required both on the OD and ID of the rod, which must be free from grease or oil contamination.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod is typically welded using manual or automatic TIG welding, with or without filler wire. To minimize the heat-affected zone, low heat input is recommended. Post-weld heat treatment is generally not necessary for Titanium Rod.
