Type 321 stainless steel is an advanced austenitic steel. It shares many of the same properties as Type 304 but boasts increased titanium and carbon content. Type 321 provides metal fabricators with superior corrosion and oxidation resistance, as well as exceptional toughness even at cryogenic temperatures. It excels in resisting oxidation and corrosion, thanks to the presence of titanium. Key benefits of titanium in 321 stainless steel include: Prevention of harmful carbide precipitation in the weld's heat-affected zone (HAZ), partial protection against intergranular corrosion, and reduced embrittlement in high-risk weld areas. 321H stainless steel is prevalent in applications where parts are heated to carbide precipitation temperatures (800°F-1500°F) and exposed to corrosive atmospheres. 321 stainless steel is similar to 304 stainless steel but contains more nickel and is stabilized with titanium. This titanium preferentially interacts with the carbon in the steel, preventing the formation of chromium carbides at the grain boundaries. This maintains corrosion resistance qualities by minimizing chromium consumption near the grain borders during exposure to critical temperatures. This grade hardens well with cold working, is easily weldable, and rarely requires post-weld annealing to maintain its outstanding performance in a variety of corrosive conditions.
Our forming capabilities feature cutting-edge extrusion and cold working assets for tube and pipe production, including one of the world's largest pilger mills and a unique hydroforming process for manufacturing fittings.
As a fully vertically integrated manufacturer, we provide a one-stop solution for all your needs, from entire projects to specific machining jobs such as Straightening, Drilling, Honing, Trepanning, Cutting, Testing, Boring, Machining, Laser Welding, Polishing, Turning, and a range of Specialized Services.
