- 310S alloy is an austenitic stainless steel bar renowned for its outstanding high-temperature resistance, ductility, and weldability. RESISTANCE
Stainless Steel Alloy 310 rods and pipes offer exceptional resistance to corrosion and heat, even under the most demanding conditions.
CORROSION RESISTANCE
- Offers exceptional corrosion resistance.
- High chromium content provides excellent aqueous corrosion resistance.
- Remarkable resistance at normal temperatures, with good performance in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres.
HEAT RESISTANCE
- Exhibits excellent oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C and in continuous service up to 1150°C.
- Superior resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating.
- Widely utilized where sulfur dioxide gas is present at elevated temperatures.
- Not recommended for continuous use in the 425-860°C range if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is necessary due to carbide precipitation.
- Typically employed at temperatures starting around 800 or 900°C, exceeding the effective range of 304H and 321 stainless steels.
FABRICATION
- Ideal for the heat treatment and process industries, enduring high temperatures and corrosive environments.
- Often fabricated into intricate structures.
- Readily roller-formed, stamped, and drawn.
- Due to work hardening, severe forming operations should be followed by annealing.
