The 317L Stainless Steel Pipe is a premium-grade, molybdenum-enriched, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel. It boasts added chromium, nickel, and molybdenum to significantly enhance corrosion and chemical resistance against substances like sulfite, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. Its low carbon content prevents sensitization during welding and offers superior creep, rupture stress, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. The material remains nonmagnetic in its annealed state, though it may exhibit slight magnetism post-welding.
The 317L seamless pipe is versatile, finding use in handling sulfur, pulp liquors, acid dyes, bleaching solutions, acetylation, nitration mixtures, heavy coal and petroleum processing, and various chemical compounds. Additional applications for the 317L alloy encompass:
