Purchase Grade 2 Titanium Tubes from Daxun. We offer an extensive range of sizes, starting from a 1.0mm diameter, available directly from stock or custom-made to your specifications. We provide drawn, seamless rolled, or longitudinally welded tubes for various applications from our inventory. Our tubes, made of Grade 2 Titanium, comply with industry standards such as ASTM B 338, ASME SB 338, DIN, and VD TÜV, specifically designed for heat exchangers.

Our CP Grade 2 tubes have a density of 4.51 g/cm³, which is 45% lighter than ferrous alloys. This medium-strength alloy boasts a typical yield strength of 352 MPa, alongside excellent ductility, formability, and welding properties. The addition of iron and oxygen enhances both strength and formability. CP Grade 2 maintains similar performance qualities to Grade 1, including excellent corrosion resistance under oxidizing conditions, but offers greater strength.

Grade 2 Titanium Tubes are commercially pure titanium, offering an ideal balance between strength and ductility. Known for its excellent toughness, this alloy is the most popular choice due to its high strength, weldability, and corrosion resistance. Its high ductility and formability make it suitable for piping systems, heat exchangers, reaction and pressure vessels, and flue gas desulfurization systems. Grade 2 titanium alloys find extensive use across a wide range of industries, including chemical processing, petrochemical processing, aerospace, and marine.

Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)

Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Tubes are the industry standard for a myriad of demanding applications. Renowned for their superb balance of moderate strength and ductility, these tubes deliver unmatched corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and mildly reducing environments, including chlorides. This makes them an ideal choice for the chemical and offshore industries, as well as aircraft manufacturing where strength, ease of forming, and reliability are essential. Additionally, they are extensively used in heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, and industrial and aerospace components. They also find applications in CPI equipment and piping systems, where durability and performance are required.

Fabrication

Titanium Grade 2 exhibits excellent workability with standard cold forming methods. It is easily machinable, but it is crucial to use sharp tools and liberal amounts of coolant to maintain precision and tool life. Similar to machining austenitic stainless steels, machining should involve deep, continuous cuts with slow feeds and speeds to achieve optimal results.

Stock Availability

Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. stocks a comprehensive range of CP 2 Grade Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes, available in various sizes to meet diverse industrial needs.

Weight Reduction

CP 2 Grade Titanium Tubes are prized for their low density and high strength-to-weight ratio, making them indispensable in applications requiring weight reduction without compromising strength. These tubes offer excellent cold formability and ductility and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG methods, with inert gas shielding to prevent embrittlement in the weld zone.

Crystal Structure

ASTM B338 Grade 2 Titanium Tubes exhibit an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure at room temperature, similar to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. At approximately 885°C (1625°F), they transition to a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transformation temperature can vary based on impurities or alloying additions. Alloy elements modify the equilibrium transformation temperature into two distinct zones: an alpha transformation zone below which the alloy is all alpha, and a beta transformation zone above which the alloy is all beta. Between these temperatures, both alpha and beta phases coexist. Typical transformation temperatures for Grade 2 Titanium are 890°C (1635°F) for the alpha phase and 913°C (1675°F) for the beta phase.

Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process

Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. manufactures ASTM B338 Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Tubes using advanced techniques. The process begins with hollow blanks made by hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing, followed by multiple cold rolling stages. The seamless tubes are meticulously processed to ensure continuous perimeters at every stage. Key steps include: vacuum arc melting of sponge titanium, blanking into hollow forms, cleaning, cutting, hot extrusion or oblique rolling + piercing, degreasing, drying, cutting, online annealing, straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, vacuum annealing, final straightening, cutting, pickling, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.

Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process
