This unique composition offers a substantial increase in mechanical strength, ranging from 20% to 50% more than commercially pure (CP) titanium grades.commercially pure (CP)titanium grades. It is also more formable and weldable compared to Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5), making it a versatile choice for various applications.

INCREASED PALLADIUM

Titanium Grade 18 (UNS R56322) is nearly identical to Grade 9, with the notable addition of 0.04 - 0.08% palladium to enhance corrosion resistance. Both Grades 9 and 18 possess a density of 4.48 g/cc, significantly lighter than steel at less than 60% of its density.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

This alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of environments, including oxidizing, neutral, and mildly reducing media, such as chlorides. With the inclusion of palladium, Titanium Grade 18 offers even greater corrosion resistance. It can withstand oxidation up to temperatures of 600°F (316°C).
