Type 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel known for its exceptional corrosion resistance, on par with grades 304/304L. It excels in the 800-1500˚F temperature range, thanks to the inclusion of titanium, which stabilizes it against chromium carbide precipitation by forming titanium carbides. This grade offers outstanding intergranular corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F, and superior creep and stress rupture properties compared to 304/304L. Additionally, it maintains strength at low temperatures and remains non-magnetic when annealed.
