Grade 2 Titanium Rod stands as the workhorse among titanium alloy rods, offering an optimal strength-to-density ratio for weight-sensitive applications. As a commercially pure (CP) titanium alloy, it provides the best equilibrium between strength and weight. Its excellent balance of strength and ductility, combined with high impact resistance and easy weldability, makes it an ideal choice. It exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance in oxidizing conditions, alkaline media, brine solutions, mildly reducing environments, and wet ***. Furthermore, it is highly resistant to seawater and saline solutions. The low density, high strength-to-weight ratio, and corrosion resistance of the Grade 2 Titanium Rod make it a superior choice for diverse applications.

AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed)
AMS 4965 - Bars, Forgings (Solution treated and aged)
AMS 4967 - Bars, Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable)
In the solution-treated and aged condition, rapid quenching of small sections yields optimal properties. Larger sections and/or delayed quenching may result in properties that are less than optimal.
Typical hardness in the annealed condition is Rockwell C 30-34, and approximately Rockwell C 35-39 in the solution and aged condition.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar can be expertly machined using techniques typically reserved for austenitic stainless steel. This involves slow machining speeds, substantial feed rates, robust tooling, and an ample supply of non-chlorinated cutting fluids to ensure precision and efficiency.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod boasts excellent weldability whether in the annealed state or partially aged condition, with aging achieved through post-weld heat treatment. Careful measures must be taken to prevent contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding is best performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with an inert gas shield, protecting the molten metal and adjacent heated areas. Spot, seam, and flash welding can also be executed without the necessity for a protective atmosphere.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rod is susceptible to contamination from hydrogen during improper pickling, and from oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during processes like forging, heat treating, and brazing. Such contamination can lead to a reduction in ductility, potentially diminishing notch sensitivity and shaping attributes.
We tailor the production of bars to meet your specific requirements.

Grade 2 titanium offers excellent corrosion resistance in various environments, as detailed in Table 1. CP titanium resists corrosion in:
CP titanium demonstrates strong resistance to crevice corrosion in saline solutions, outperforming stainless steels. It remains unaffected at temperatures below 80°C (176°F) across all pH levels, even in highly chlorinated environments.
Grade 2 titanium provides robust resistance to SCC in hot chloride environments and is immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium exhibits outstanding resistance to erosion in flowing environments.
Our Premium Pure Titanium Rod Gr2 ASTM B348 High Strength Hot Rolled Supplier demonstrates exceptional resilience even in the harshest environments. Withstanding seawater velocities up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), this material shows negligible corrosion. Even the presence of abrasive particles like sand has minimal effect on its integrity.
Remarkably, our titanium rods exhibit no significant hydrogen absorption when exposed to seawater, even at elevated temperatures. Hydrogen absorption only occurs under specific conditions:
Titanium alloys from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. exhibit unique immunity to all forms of microbiologically influenced corrosion. Although these alloys are non-toxic to marine organisms, which might lead to biofouling in seawater, this can be mitigated through chlorination or by increasing water velocity in heat exchangers.
Our Grade 2 Titanium Rods stand out for their superior fatigue performance. Unlike many materials, they do not show a decrease in fatigue endurance or *** growth rates in seawater, performing equally well in both air and aquatic environments.
In the galvanic series, titanium is positioned towards the noble end near stainless steels. Consequently, it generally acts as the cathode when coupled with other metals, protecting itself from galvanic corrosion but potentially accelerating corrosion of the other metal. When paired with more noble metals like graphite, titanium's passivity is further enhanced.
Our Grade 2 Titanium Rods offer unparalleled fatigue properties, maintaining their integrity and performance in both air and seawater environments. Fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates remain consistent, making them an ideal choice for demanding applications.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rods are highly weldable provided that specific precautions are adhered to. Due to the reactive nature of titanium, an inert gas shield is essential for both the outer and inner diameters of the rod. Additionally, the material must be free from any grease or oil contamination to ensure quality welds.
Typically, Grade 2 Titanium Rods are welded using manual or automatic TIG welding, with or without filler wire. It's crucial to use low heat input to minimize the size of the heat-affected zone, and post-weld heat treatment is generally not required for these rods.
