GENERAL PROPERTIES
- 321 Stainless Steel Pipe (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel known for its superior corrosion resistance. It offers exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to chromium carbide precipitation temperatures between 800 - 1500°F (427 - 816°C). The alloy can withstand oxidation up to 1500°F (816°C) and exhibits better creep and stress rupture properties compared to 304 and 304L steel pipes. Additionally, it maintains good low-temperature toughness.
- Stainless Steel Tube 321H (UNS S 32109) is the higher carbon variant (0.04 - 0.10) of this alloy, designed to enhance creep resistance and strength at temperatures exceeding 1000°F (537°C). Typically, the carbon content ensures dual certification.
- Alloy 321 achieves toughness exclusively through cold working and not via heat treatment. It is easily weldable and can be processed using standard shop fabrication techniques.

- The alloy is unsuitable for work at temperatures below 1700°F (927°C).
- Material must be water-quenched or fully annealed post-working to regain maximum corrosion resistance.
COLD FORMING
- Highly ductile and easily formable.
WELDING

MACHINING
