Type 321 is an exceptional titanium-stabilized chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel offering corrosion resistance comparable to 304/304L. Ideal for applications within the 800-1500˚F temperature range, it is uniquely stabilized against chromium carbide precipitation with the addition of titanium, leading to the formation of titanium carbides. This results in superior intergranular corrosion resistance, remarkable oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F, and enhanced creep and stress rupture properties over 304/304L. It remains strong at low temperatures and is non-magnetic when annealed.
