The Duplex 2507 stainless steel is highly resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, offers excellent thermal conductivity, and maintains a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The elevated levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel ensure robust resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel, renowned for its robust composition of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This alloy is meticulously designed to meet the rigorous requirements of applications that demand exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, making it perfect for use in the chemical process industries, petrochemical sectors, and marine environments. Duplex 2507 offers remarkable resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, superior thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel provide exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
For optimal results, Baosteel 2507 should be hot worked within the temperature range of 1875°F to 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
Compatible with most standard stainless steel forming processes, Baosteel 2507 requires additional forming forces, larger bending radii, and greater springback margins due to its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels. Deep drawing, stretch forming, and similar processes are more challenging, and a solution anneal and quench is recommended for over 10% cold deformation.
Post hot or cold forming, Baosteel 2507 should undergo solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by a rapid air or water quench. To achieve peak corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
Renowned for its excellent weldability, Baosteel 2507 can be welded to itself or other materials using methods such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux-cored wire (FCW) or submerged arc welding (SAW). Employ 2507/P100 filler metal to obtain the desired duplex weld structure.
