410 Plate Features
Corrosion Resistance
The 410 grade stainless steel offers impressive resistance to dry air, fresh water, mild bases, and acids, making it perfect for diverse environments including food processing and hot gases.
For optimal heat and corrosion resistance, 410 stainless steel must be hardened. Its performance is maximized when the surface is smooth.
Heat Resistance
Exhibiting strong resistance to scaling up to approximately 650°C, 410 stainless steel is a reliable choice. However, it is generally not advisable to use it at temperatures ranging from 400 to 580°C due to reduced mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
To fully anneal, heat the material between 815-900°C, then cool it slowly in a furnace to 600°C before allowing it to air cool.
For process annealing, heat the material to 650-760°C and allow it to air cool.
Welding
410 stainless steel can be easily welded using all standard methods. Preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing are necessary to minimize the risk of cracking.
