Grade 5 titanium alloy rod (titanium aluminum vanadium alloy) is the most commonly used α-β titanium alloy, accounting for 50% of the total titanium alloy usage worldwide. One of the most notable features of grade 5 titanium alloy is that it is fully heat treatable and can be used at temperatures up to 400°C. It has low density (4.43 kg/dm³), excellent corrosion resistance, and high mechanical strength. Grade 5 titanium alloy has high tensile strength at ambient temperature and good creep resistance at temperatures up to 300°C. It also has strong *** resistance and fatigue resistance. The age-hardening ability of 6AL-4V titanium alloy rod makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of applications, including fasteners and components in harsh environments. Its high machinability and weldability make it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
DAXUN® Ti Grade 5 is a titanium alloy bar (6al-4v) featuring:
Daxun produces high-quality titanium bars with high performance and can also manufacture according to customer's agreement:
Daxun performs several quality assurance tests, including mechanical tests like area tensile, chemical analysis, material positive identification (PMI test), micro and macro testing, intergranular corrosion (IGC) test, ultrasonic flaw detection, pitting and resistance testing, hardness testing, material positive identification, and expansion tests. All these tests ensure that the Grade 2 Titanium Rod and Grade 2 Titanium Round Bar material is suitable for the required application. During the production process, we measure the diameter, thickness, and surface of the product.

AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed)
AMS 4965 - Bars, Forgings (Solution treated and aged)
AMS 4967 - Bars, Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable)
In the solution treated and aged condition, rapid quenching of small sections yields optimum properties. Larger section sizes or delayed quenching may result in less than optimum properties.
Typical hardness in the annealed condition is Rockwell C 30-34, while in the solution and aged condition, it ranges from Rockwell C 35-39.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar offers excellent machinability when processed using techniques akin to austenitic stainless steel. Employing slow machining speeds, high feeds, and rigid tools, along with liberal use of non-chlorinated cutting fluids, ensures optimal results.
Our Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod boasts superior weldability, whether in annealed, solution-treated, or partially aged conditions. Post-weld heat treatment facilitates aging. It is crucial to prevent contamination with oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding is best achieved in an inert gas-filled chamber or with inert gas shielding. Additionally, spot, seam, and flash welding can be performed effectively without protective atmospheres.
It's important to note that Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rods can suffer hydrogen contamination from improper pickling, and oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon contamination during various processes. Such contamination may reduce ductility, adversely affecting notch sensitivity and forming properties.

Avoid using titanium with strong reducing acids, fluoride solutions, pure oxygen, or anhydrous *** for optimal performance.
Grade 2 titanium demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance across various media, as detailed in Table 1. CP titanium excels in environments including:
CP titanium exhibits superior crevice corrosion resistance in salt solutions compared to stainless steels, remaining unaffected at temperatures below 80°C (176°F).
Grade 2 titanium offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hot chloride solutions and remains immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium shows remarkable resistance to erosion in flowing media, ensuring durability and longevity.
Even in seawater with velocities soaring up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), our material exhibits negligible impact. The presence of abrasive particles like sand produces only a minor effect on corrosion.
Titanium shows no significant hydrogen absorption when exposed to seawater, regardless of higher temperatures. Hydrogen absorption typically occurs only under the following conditions:
Titanium alloys boast a unique immunity to all forms of microbiologically influenced corrosion. Although these alloys do not show toxicity toward marine organisms, biofouling can still occur in seawater. Mitigation methods include chlorination or increasing water velocity through the heat exchanger.
Unlike many other materials, Titanium maintains its fatigue performance in seawater. Both fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates are unaffected whether tested in air or seawater.
In the galvanic series, titanium is positioned towards the noble end near stainless steels, typically acting as the cathode when coupled with other metals. Thus, titanium remains unaffected by galvanic corrosion but can accelerate the corrosion of the other metal. Coupling titanium with more noble metals, like graphite, enhances titanium's passivity.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod is exceptional in that it does not suffer from degradation in fatigue properties even in seawater. Both fatigue endurance limits and *** growth rates are consistent whether tested in air or seawater.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rod is highly weldable with the right precautions. Given titanium's reactivity, an inert gas shield is necessary on both the OD and ID of the rod. The material must be free of any grease or oil contamination.
Typically welded using manual or automatic TIG welding with or without filler wire, Grade 2 Titanium Rod requires low heat input to minimize the heat affected zone. Post weld heat treatment is generally not applied.
