Ti 6Al-4V (Grade 5 Titanium) is the most predominant titanium alloy, making up over 50% of all titanium usage. Typically used in an annealed state, it withstands operating temperatures up to 400°C (750°F). Ti 6Al/4V welded with matching or ELI filler wire boasts significantly higher strength than commercial pure titanium tubes. While its thermal conductivity is about 60% lower than CP titanium, its superior stiffness, formability, low density, and corrosion resistance make it an excellent choice for seamless tubes. Heat treatment further enhances its strength and performance.
This grade stands as a paragon of excellence, merging superior strength, exceptional corrosion resistance, and unmatched weldability with remarkable machinability. Such a unique blend of attributes makes it indispensable in a multitude of high-stakes applications. From the demanding environments of military aircraft and aviation industries to the precision required in rocket components and guided systems, its versatility shines. It also finds critical uses in armor parts, ship equipment, and military vacuum devices. The closely related 6-4ELI variant is extensively utilized in surgical implants, bearing testament to its reliability. With optimal performance in temperatures ranging from -210°C to 400°C, it enhances ductility and toughness in cold working conditions, offering excellent specific strength. Typically provided in the annealed state, it is readily heat-treated to bolster strength, making it suitable for diverse applications. As a titanium alloy renowned for its general-purpose utility, the Ti 6Al-4V titanium seamless tube is celebrated for its extraordinary properties, even at high temperatures. Grade 5 titanium alloy tube is the most commercialized of all titanium alloys, combining high strength, toughness, and commendable welding and processing characteristics.

- carefully executed during the heat treatment. It is crucial to prevent contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding can be seamlessly performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with an inert gas tail shield over the molten metal and adjacent hot zone. Processes such as spot welding, seam welding, and flash welding are achievable without a protective environment.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
- DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy is susceptible to hydrogen contamination through improper pickling, and absorption of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during forging, heat treatment, and brazing. This contamination can diminish ductility, affecting notch sensitivity and forming properties.
Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Pipe - Grade 5 Titanium Tube
Titanium Alloy - (UNS R56400)
Introduction
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 (UNS R56400) stands as the most preferred titanium alloy. It is a duplex alpha+beta alloy, utilizing aluminum as the alpha stabilizer and vanadium as the beta stabilizer. This high-strength alloy is functional at temperatures as low as 800°F (427°C). ATI Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy is employed in annealing, solution treating, and aging. Its applications span from compressor blades, disks, and rings for jet engines, fuselage and space capsule parts, pressure vessels, *** casings, helicopter rotor hubs, fasteners, to critical forgings demanding a high strength-to-weight ratio.
The alloy initially undergoes vacuum arc (VAR), electron beam (EB), or plasma arc hearth melting (PAM). Subsequent remelting occurs through one or two vacuum arc steps.
