Daxun Alloy proudly offers pure Grade 1 titanium tubes, renowned for their exceptional quality and performance:
Our seamless and welded titanium tubes stand out with excellent ductility and cold formability, making them ideal for intricate deep drawing processes. Grade 1 titanium exhibits remarkable general and seawater corrosion resistance, along with superb resistance to oxidizing, neutral, and slightly reducing environments, including chloride solutions.
Titanium's inherent low density-approximately half that of nickel-based alloys-combined with its high strength, lightweight properties, and superior corrosion resistance, makes it an optimal choice for numerous challenging chemical conditions. Our titanium tubes adhere to the following stringent standards: ASTM B338 | ASTM B265 | ASME SB265 | ASTM F67 | ISO 5832-2 | 3.7025 | UNS R50250
Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)
Grade 2 titanium tubes are a staple in industrial applications due to their balanced properties of moderate strength and reasonable ductility. They provide outstanding corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and slightly reducing environments, including chlorides. These tubes are essential in the chemical and offshore industries, aircraft manufacturing, heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, industrial and aerospace components, CPI equipment, and piping systems.
Fabrication
Grade 2 titanium responds exceptionally well to cold forming using conventional methods. While machining, it is crucial to maintain sharp tools and use liberal coolant. Similar to machining austenitic stainless steels, deep and continuous cuts at slow feeds and speeds are recommended for optimal results.
Stock Availability
Daxun Alloys maintains an extensive inventory of CP Grade 2 Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in various sizes, ready to meet your immediate needs.
Weight Reduction
CP Grade 2 titanium tubes offer an impressive strength-to-weight ratio and low density, making them ideal for applications requiring weight reduction without compromising strength. They exhibit good cold formability, excellent ductility, and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG processes, with inert gas shielding necessary to prevent embrittlement of the weld zone.
Crystal Structure
At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tube boasts an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure. At approximately 885°C (1625°F), it transforms to a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transformation temperature can be influenced by impurities or alloying additions, dividing the single temperature of equilibrium transformation into alpha and beta zones: the alpha transformation zone below which the alloy is all alpha, and the beta transformation zone above which the alloy is all beta. Both alpha and beta forms coexist between these temperatures, with typical transformation points for Grade 2 titanium being 890°C (1635°F) and 913°C (1675°F), respectively.
Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium seamless tubes are meticulously crafted from hollow blanks via hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing, followed by multiple cold rolling processes. These seamless tubes maintain continuous perimeters throughout manufacturing. The intricate process includes: sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, ingot blanking to hollow blanks, cleaning, cutting, hot extrusion or oblique rolling + piercing, degreasing, drying, hot extrusion, cutting, online annealing and straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.
Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium welded pipe is meticulously crafted from annealed flat-rolled steel plate or steel strip using the advanced automatic arc welding (TIG) process. Our comprehensive production sequence encompasses: titanium plate uncoiling, shearing, butt welding, meticulous cleaning, precision pipe forming, TIG welding, eddy current testing, pre-sizing, annealing, precision reducing, sizing, straightening, eddy current testing, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection, and meticulous packaging. Each welded pipe undergoes a minimum of one stress relief heat treatment post-formation and welding. At Daxun, we ensure optimal welding integrity, utilizing appropriate filler materials.
Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Pipe - Premium Grade 5 Titanium Tube
Titanium Alloy - (UNS R56400)
Introduction
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 (UNS R56400), stands as the epitome of titanium alloy popularity. This sophisticated duplex alpha+beta titanium alloy features aluminum as the alpha stabilizer and vanadium as the beta stabilizer, offering exceptional high-strength performance for applications at low temperatures around 800°F (427°C). The ATI Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy excels in annealing, solution treating, and aging, making it indispensable for components like compressor blades, disks, and rings for jet engines; fuselage and space capsule parts; pressure vessels; *** cases; helicopter rotor hubs; fasteners; and other critical forgings necessitating a high strength-to-weight ratio.
The alloy foundation is meticulously established using vacuum arc (VAR), electron beam (EB), or plasma arc hearth melting (PAM). The remelting process may involve one or two vacuum arc steps to ensure purity and quality.

Optimum Properties
Optimum characteristics are realized in small cross-sections with rapid quenching in solution treated and aged states. Larger cross-sections or delayed quenching might yield suboptimal properties.
Hardness
Inherent hardness in the annealed condition ranges between Rockwell C 30-34, while in the solution and aged state, it reaches approximately Rockwell C 35-39.
Forgeability/Formability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 Titanium Tube undergoes forging at 1,750°F (954°C), concluding at a final forging temperature of 1,450°F (788°C). For optimal results, a reduction of at least 35% is highly recommended.
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 Titanium Tube exhibits challenges in forming at room temperature, even post-annealing. Consequently, intense forming operations such as bending or stretching on annealed material can be conducted up to 1,200°F (649°C) without altering its mechanical properties. Creep forming is ideal for hot sizing or forming at temperatures from 1,000 to 1,200°F (538 to 649°C).
Machinability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 Titanium Tube is machinable using techniques akin to those for austenitic stainless steels. Employ slow speeds, high feeds, robust tool rigidity, and ample quantities of non-chlorinated cutting fluids for best results.
Weldability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 Titanium Tube demonstrates excellent weldability in both annealed and solution-treated, partially aged states, followed by aging.
This process is completed during post-weld heat treatment. It is crucial to prevent contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding should be executed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with the employment of an inert gas tail shield over the molten metal and adjacent hot zones. Methods such as spot welding, seam welding, and flash welding can be performed without a protective atmosphere.
Special Considerations
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 Titanium Tube may become contaminated with hydrogen due to improper pickling and the absorption of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during processes like forging, heat treatment, and brazing. Such contamination can detrimentally impact ductility, notch sensitivity, and formability.
