CORROSION RESISTANCE:

  • Our stainless steel exhibits superior corrosion resistance, surpassing standard hardenable stainless steels in durability and performance.
  • Performance comparable to Alloy 304 in most types of corrosive environments.
  • Ideal for use in chemical, petroleum, dairy, and food processing industries due to its robust corrosion resistance.
  • Caution: Extended exposure to stagnant seawater may lead to crevice or pitting corrosion.

WELDABILITY:

  • Capable of being welded using most common fusion and resistance welding techniques.
  • It is not recommended for oxyacetylene welding applications.
  • Typically does not require pre-heating before welding.
  • Maintaining an inter-pass temperature below 248°F is crucial.
  • Achieve superior weld toughness through a comprehensive heat treatment process.

ELEVATED TEMPERATURE USE:

  • Displays excellent oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°F.
  • Note: Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can diminish toughness in precipitation-hardened conditions.

PROCESSING - HOT FORMING:

  • For forging, uniformly heat to 2150-2200°F and maintain for half an hour per inch of thickness.
  • The optimal temperature range for hot forming is between 650-900°F while the steel is still in its austenitic phase.
