No.2D | Annealing and pickling are performed after cold rolling; material is soft with surface of silver-white luster; used for general applications and deep drawing. |

Duplex 2507 is renowned for its superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, excellent thermal conductivity, and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a premier super duplex stainless steel containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Designed for the most demanding applications, it delivers unparalleled strength and corrosion resistance ideal for chemical processing, petrochemical industries, and seawater equipment. This steel exhibits exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, excellent thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. General Corrosion
For optimal results, the 2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
Cold working the 2507 alloy is well-suited to most standard stainless steel forming processes. Given its higher yield strength and lower ductility than austenitic steels, fabricators should anticipate using more forming forces, larger bending radii, and allowing for greater springback. Procedures such as deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging compared to austenitic stainless steel. For deformations exceeding 10% cold work, a solution anneal and quench is recommended.
Post hot or cold forming, the 2507 should undergo solution annealing at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by a swift air or water quench. For peak corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
The 2507 stainless steel plate offers excellent weldability and can be effectively joined with various materials using SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, or SAW techniques. Employing 2507/P100 filler metal ensures achieving the desired duplex weld structure.
Insulating the 2507 is not necessary, except to prevent condensation on cold metal surfaces. The Interpass
