The Grade 2 Titanium Rod stands as the flagship among titanium alloy rods, renowned for its optimal strength-to-density ratio tailored for weight-sensitive applications. As a commercially pure (CP) titanium alloy, it masterfully balances strength and weight. Distinguished by its exceptional strength and ductility, it boasts high impact resistance and seamless weldability. The rod excels in corrosion resistance under oxidizing conditions, alkaline environments, brine solutions, mildly reducing atmospheres, and wet ***. Its robust resistance to seawater and saline solutions, combined with its low density and high strength-to-weight ratio, makes the Grade 2 Titanium Rod an ideal choice for a multitude of applications.

AMS 4928 - Bars, Forgings, and Forging Stock (Annealed)
AMS 4965 - Bars, Forgings (Solution treated and aged)
AMS 4967 - Bars, Forgings (Annealed, Heat Treatable)
Rapid quenching of small sections in the solution treated and aged condition yields optimal properties. For larger section sizes or delayed quenching, properties may be less than optimal.
In the annealed state, typical hardness measures Rockwell C 30-34, whereas in the solution treated and aged state, it measures Rockwell C 35-39.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy bar can be effectively machined using austenitic stainless steel methods. The process demands slow machining speeds, high feeds, and the use of rigid tools. A plentiful supply of non-chlorinated cutting fluids enhances precision and extends tool life, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
The Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy rod is highly weldable in both annealed and solution-partially aged conditions. Post-weld heat treatment enables aging. To prevent contamination from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, welding should be performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with inert gas protection. Techniques such as fusion, spot, seam, and flash welding can be executed without a protective atmosphere, ensuring structural integrity and performance.
Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium alloy rods can suffer from hydrogen contamination due to improper pickling and from oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during processes like forging, heat treating, and brazing. This contamination can reduce ductility, negatively impacting notch sensitivity and forming characteristics, which must be carefully managed during processing.
We expertly produce bars tailored to your exact requirements.
Our bars boast excellent surface finish and straightness, perfect roundness, and the most stringent diameter tolerances (up to h5 per ISO 286-2). Available in straightened, ground, and polished conditions for superior performance.

Titanium should not be used with strong reducing acids, fluoride solutions, pure oxygen, or anhydrous ***.
The general corrosion rates for Grade 2 titanium in various media are listed in Table 1. CP titanium demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments including:
CP titanium offers good resistance to crevice corrosion in salt solutions compared to stainless steels. It does not show crevice corrosion at temperatures below 80°C (176°F), regardless of pH, even under highly chlorinated conditions.
Grade 2 titanium boasts excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hot chloride solutions and is immune to SCC in seawater.
Titanium demonstrates outstanding resistance to erosion in flowing environments.
Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd.'s advanced Titanium Rod Gr2 Extruded Rod ASTM B348 Standard High Strength Titanium Bar exhibits exceptional resistance to seawater with velocities up to 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec), showing negligible material impact. Even the presence of abrasive particles like sand has minimal effect on its corrosion resistance.
There is no significant absorption of hydrogen into titanium exposed to seawater, even at elevated temperatures. Hydrogen absorption generally occurs only under the following conditions:
Titanium alloys from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. showcase exceptional immunity to microbiologically influenced corrosion. However, biofouling can occur in seawater due to the non-toxic nature of titanium alloys towards marine organisms. This can be controlled by chlorination or increasing water velocity through heat exchangers.
Unlike many other materials, Grade 2 Titanium Rod from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. does not exhibit diminished fatigue performance in seawater. Fatigue endurance limits and fatigue *** growth rates remain consistent whether tested in air or seawater.
In the galvanic series, titanium is positioned towards the noble end near stainless steels, usually acting as the cathode when paired with other metals. Thus, titanium remains unaffected by galvanic corrosion but may accelerate the corrosion of other metals. Coupling with more noble metals like graphite further enhances titanium's passivity.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod from Jiangsu Daxun Alloy Co., Ltd. maintains its fatigue properties even in the presence of seawater. Both fatigue endurance limits and fatigue *** growth rates are invariant, whether tested in air or seawater.
CP2 Grade Titanium Rod is highly weldable when the necessary precautions are followed. Due to titanium's reactivity, an inert gas shield must be applied to both the OD and ID of the rod, ensuring it is free from grease or oil contamination.
Grade 2 Titanium Rod is typically welded using manual or automatic TIG welding, with or without filler wire. A low heat input is recommended to minimize the heat-affected zone. Post-weld heat treatment is not typically required for Titanium Rod.
