Type 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel distinguished by its excellent corrosion resistance, comparable to that of 304/304L. Ideal for applications within the 800-1500˚F temperature range, it is stabilized against chromium carbide precipitation through the addition of titanium, forming durable titanium carbides. Type 321 outperforms 304/304L with superior intergranular corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F, and enhanced creep and stress rupture strength. It remains robust at low temperatures and is non-magnetic when annealed.
